Subject: Book fair volunteers
Hello Hawk Ridge Families!
Feel that lovely crisp fall air? That means it’s time for the Hawk Ridge fall book fair! We are once again preparing for a week of fun and excitement and are looking for volunteers to help make it happen. You are receiving this email because you indicated that you would be interested in helping out during the book fair week.
Important note: The dates for the book fair have been changed since the October calendar was sent out!!!!
Due to a change in the school calendar by CMS, we have had to move the book fair forward by one week. The book fair will now be held from Friday, October 9th until Friday, October 16th. Another change for this year is that the book fair will be open during Hawk Fest on Friday, October 16th. Volunteers will be needed during that time, as well as during the school days.
Many of our volunteers like to schedule their time so that they are present when their child’s class comes to the book fair. I have attached a copy of Ms. Price’s class schedule so that you can determine the best time to volunteer. At the bottom of this email I have also outlined the days and times that we need volunteers for the week. There are several critical time slots where extra volunteers are needed. These include first thing in the morning before school begins from 8am – 8:30am, and any time slots where kindergartners are attending the book fair. If you can participate during any of these slots, it would be greatly appreciated!
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the book fair or your time as a volunteer. We thank you in advance for your time and want you to know that we are looking forward to working with all of you. The book fair is a fun event for the children and it is a delight for all of us who participate to see their excitement and enthusiasm.

BOOK FAIR SCHEDULE
Thursday, Oct. 8th
Set up 3:15 – 4:30pm
As many volunteers as possible!
Friday, Oct. 9th
Preview Day: 1-2 volunteers per shift
Shifts: 8:30 – 10:20am (need extra vols. this shift for kindergarten classes)
10:20 – 12:00am
1:00 – 2:30pm
Monday Oct. 5 Tues, Oct 6th Wed Oct. 7th Thurs. Oct. 8th Friday Oct 9th
8:00 – 8:30am High volume time and needs at least 3 volunteers every morning!
8:30 – 10:20am Critical time is 9:30 – 10:30 and needs 2-3 volunteers, since all classes are kindergartners!!
10:20 – 12:00pm
1:00 – 2:30pm Critical time is 1 -2pm and needs 2-3 volunteers since all classes are first graders!
Saturday, Oct. 17th – AM clean up (as many volunteers as we can get!!)
